About Sarah Merrill — Everyday AI Review

“`html

I spent 11 years running a boutique marketing consultancy for local businesses, then went full-time reviewing AI tools because I couldn’t find a single review site that told me the truth.

Background

My consultancy work was hands-on from day one — local businesses with real budgets, real deadlines, and no patience for tools that didn’t deliver. When AI started showing up everywhere around 2022, I didn’t have the luxury of sitting back and watching. My clients were asking questions I couldn’t answer, and the gap between what these tools promised and what they actually did was enormous. I learned by doing, which meant I also learned by getting burned.

I wasted real time — and real money — on tools that overpromised and underdelivered before I found the handful that genuinely changed how I worked. That experience is the foundation of everything I write here. I know what it feels like to spend two weeks integrating a tool into your workflow only to realize it doesn’t do the one thing you actually need. I’m not going to let you do that.

I’m 38, based in Denver, with a 10-year-old and a calendar that leaves no room for tools that waste my time. That’s the lens I bring to every review: does this make my business day better or not. If the answer is no, I say so directly — with the specific reasons, not a vague shrug.

What I Cover on Everyday AI Review

Every post on this site comes from real testing on real work. I name the exact tier I tested, how long I used it, and what task I used it for. I pick winners in comparisons — I don’t publish “both have pros and cons” conclusions. Small business owners don’t have time to try 12 tools. I already did that part. I write workflow-specific guides for the tasks that actually eat your day, honest negative reviews of tools I tried and stopped using, and cost-conscious analysis of whether the price is actually worth it for a 5-to-50-person operation.

This site will never publish a sponsored review that isn’t disclosed, recommend a tool I haven’t personally used for real work, or end a recommendation with “it’s up to you.” If I wouldn’t pay for it with my own money for my own workflow, I’ll tell you that plainly.
